Melting Arctic Ice
Someone needs to tell Dan at the Associated Press that when floating ice (e.g. the arctic ice cap) melts, it can't possible cause the ocean to rise. Ice that is on the land (e.g. Greenland, and Antarctica) needs to melt to cause the oceans to rise. So far the evidence shows that Greenland and Antarctica are gaining ice mass, not losing it.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Scientists on Monday painted a gloomy picture of the effects of global warming on the Arctic, warning of melting ocean ice, rising oceans, thawed permafrost and forests susceptible to bugs and fire.
